This website does not use cookies, analytics or any form of tracking. Visiting the site only generates the technical access data described under “Hosting” below.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the site, GitHub processes technical data in server logs: your IP address, the address of the referring page, date and time of the request, information about your browser and operating system, and the HTTP status code. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — the legitimate interest in delivering the site securely and reliably. The logs are deleted once they are no longer needed for this purpose. GitHub, Inc. is based in the USA. Data transfers to the USA are safeguarded by GitHub's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by EU standard contractual clauses as part of the GitHub Data Protection Agreement.

Theme preference

Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's localStorage. This storage is necessary to provide a function you explicitly request and therefore requires no consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG). The value never leaves your device and contains no personal data.

Contact by email

If you contact me by email, your data (address, message content) is processed solely to handle the enquiry — based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest: responding to enquiries addressed to me). An email provider is used to receive email; beyond that, your data is not shared with third parties. It is deleted once your enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise. Providing your data is neither legally nor contractually required; without it, I simply cannot answer your enquiry.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data.
